Mission

THE POINT’s mission is to empower youth and their families to live victoriously by offering a safe, engaging, Spirit-filled environment.

History

Established in 2003, The Parkesburg Point Youth Center (THE POINT) originated as a collaborative endeavor among churches, community leaders, businesses, law enforcement, educators, and the judicial system. Its purpose was to address the challenges faced by the most vulnerable youth in Western Chester County. Since its inception, our dedicated staff and volunteers have developed and managed innovative faith-based programs during after-school hours, weekends, and summers. Within its first ten years, THE POINT outgrew its initial 7,600-square-foot space, transitioning to a 33,000-square-foot complex housed in a converted grocery store. Through an ambitious capital campaign, THE POINT achieved debt-free status. It now owns the 4.25-acre property and its buildings at 700 Main Street in Parkesburg, PA. Over time, with the help of our donors, THE POINT's space now includes a multi-use community center space and gymnasium, cafeteria, commercial kitchen, boxing gym, chapel, indoor climbing wall and obstacle course, art room, three classroom spaces, outdoor skatepark, outdoor basketball court, and a hands-on-training center! THE POINT is also blessed to host the local community food cupboard.

Today, THE POINT is open 5-7 days a week and serves over 685 students via our core programs with over 2,500 additional students being served via athletic tournaments and community outreach.
